Volunteer News

At year's end, most of us take time to reflect on the past year, and then look forward and start making plans. We've had a great year in the Volunteer Guild with many new people joining and becoming involved. When we first started the Guild, we had about 18 active members, and I'm very happy to report that we now have over 40 ACTIVE
members. Many blessings to each and every one of you!!

Kudos to Pete and Lorraine Sullivan for their many donations for the "Goodies Auction". From tallying up the totals, it seems they brought in the highest dollar amount for the theatre from among the Guild members! Job well done, guys!! They were followed closely by Pat and Len LaCroix and John Rhinehart. Thanks to all of you who
purchased items as well. Support for the theatre goes both ways in this case!

As 2009 comes to an end, I would like to thank each and every one of you for the hours of volunteer service you have put in at the theatre. It means a lot to know that there are some I can call anytime when something is needed. It's not so frustrating to know that there are some who will call before every show to let me know what night they will be there to work in the concession stand. Volunteers are special and you all deserve a star!

(EDITOR'S NOTE: I am so proud of all of the Guild members for your efforts in 2009. You definitely made a difference and you helped in one of our mission goals--you changed lives! Thank You!)

The vitality of a city is determined by its cultural resources. HCPAC strives for excellence in this area and depends on support from the community to achieve it.

Since its inception in 1964, our name has become synonymous with artistic excellence. The theatre’s commitment to producing high quality productions is evidenced in the fabulous sets, costumes and imaginative interpretations of great plays, through the development of new works and through the commitment to arts education for the young people of our community.

However, what you may not know is that ticket sales cover only 30% of the cost of our productions, education and operating costs. The only way we can bridge the gap is trough special events and donations from contributors, businesses and organizations.

Your reasons for giving to the theatre may be as varied as how you would like to make your donation. That is why we offer a variety of ways to support our programs.

There are a number of ways you can support the theatre this year, each yielding special privileges. Every gift makes a difference. We are at your service to answer questions at the number listed below. Watch this web site as we continue to add information about our annual fund, partners program, corporate support, friend of the theatre program, memorials, take your seat program and others.

To learn more about the many privileges of giving, please call Dennis Gilmore at 903-675-3908, ext. 203.
